I am watching a CNN exclusive called, Winning Over Al Qaeda, Re-educating radical detainees at Camp Bucca in Iraq. Its one of the most hilarious things I have ever seen. Supposedly, "radical" "hard-core Al Qaeda loyalists" terrorists, the ones we don't negotiate with, are being transformed into moderates behind the barbed wire. LOL!
The correspondents actually said that this change is coming about because now, "An imam explains to the detainees they have to respect other people. He also tells them everyone makes mistakes, and it's up to each individual to correct those mistakes. He tells them killing people is wrong and un-Islamic."
I guess somewhere in Camp Bucca, kind of sounds like Sambucca (chilled shots are great), there is a conversation going on like this.
Moderate Imam Wally Cleaver: Hassan, you have to stop blowing up people and shooting people.
Radical Al-Qaeda Terrorist Hassan Beaver Cleaver: ALLAHU AHKBAR!!!!
Moderate Imam Wally Cleaver: Hassan, you have to respect other people.
Radicl Al-Qaeda Terrorist Hassan Beaver Cleaver: They bombed my country. They bombed my village. Half my family is dead!!! We are starving! We have no food, no money, no jobs, no clothes, no life nothing!!! Allahu Ahkbar!!!
Moderate Imam Wally Cleaver: Hassan, everyone makes mistakes. Killing people is un-Islamic.
Radical Al-Qaeda Terrorist Hassan Beaver Cleaver: The Americans have killed a half million of my people.!!! ALLAHU AHKBAR!!!
Moderate Imam Wally Cleaver: Hassan, everyone makes mistakes. It is up to each individual to correct that mistake. Now, what we are going to do is let you take an art class, a English class and a Civics class on Democracy. How does that sound to you?
Radical Al-Qaeda Terrorist Hassan Beaver Cleaver: Well...gee Wally, when you put it like that it makes sense. We shouldn't hurt people. Everyone makes mistakes. Thanks, Wally. Can I go home now?
Moderate Imam Wally Cleaver: Sure Beav, don't worry about it. I used to want to destroy America, too but after the Art classes things started making sense. Now lets get home have some of Mom's meatloaf.
Radical Al-Qaeda Terrorist Hassan Beaver Cleaver: You know Wally...that whole Al-Qaeda thing is kinda dumb.
Moderate Imam Wally Cleaver: I know Beav...lets go home...and get rid of that turban.
Thank you CNN and Wolf Blitzer for this cutting edge insight on terrorist re-education. It just makes me wonder; if we can have such dramatic success re-educating "terrorists" how come we can't re-educate America's huge prison population. Are the tax evader, robber and drug dealer more hard core and set in their ways than Al-Qaeda terrorists? We have to export these revolutionary reeducation methods back to the U.S..
The funniest thing is at the end of the article. It says, "Stone wants Camp Bucca to be the model for three new detention facilities to be built around Iraq closer to detainees' families. They could cost $250 million to build." The re-education program is so successfull that they have to build three more jails. LOL!!! At least there doing it for the right reason, they want the prisoners to be closer to their families.
The icing on the cake is this, "But if Stone's tactics are right, they could also have a significant impact on winning the war in Iraq." If anybody still thinks we are going to win the war in Iraq they are severely misguided. We haven't even won Afghanistan.
"KABUL, Afghanistan (CNN) -- Taliban militants opened fire at a military ceremony in the capital Sunday morning. A lawmaker, tribal leader and 10-year-old child were killed, but President Hamid Karzai escaped unhurt, according to an official and a statement from Karzai's office.
Afghan soldiers run to take up positions after shots were fired during a parade in Kabul on Sunday.
The attack also wounded more than 12 people, including a member of parliament, a Health Ministry official said.
The attack occurred at a Mujahedeen Victory Day ceremony, observing the 16th anniversary of Afghanistan mujahedeen fighters' overthrow of President Mohammad Najibullah's Soviet-backed regime.
Small arms fire erupted as a military band played the Afghan national anthem and as soldiers fired a 21-gun salute with artillery rounds."
That was yesterday. Today we had the following from CNN:
"In a news release issued on Monday, the military said 30 to 40 insurgents attacked five bases in the Korengal valley in Kunar province with small arms, machine guns, rocket-propelled grenades and indirect fire, a reference to mortars and rockets."
Now, if we can just get Wally Cleaver to talk with the Taliban everythings gonna' be alright.
I really don't know how much more of this rubbish I can take before I go from blah blah blogging to pu pu puking.
